About This Dog for Adoption

Buddy's ideal home

Buddy would like a private secure garden where he can sunbathe and feel secure, and he would also like to be the only dog in the home. Buddy can live with small furries if they are kept separately and would love a training minded home who can continue his ongoing socialisation. Buddy will need to stay on lead out on walks as he has shown to be under socialised but would love to make use of things like secure fields and long lines to give him some freedom out on adventures. He would suit a quiet home with minimal leaving hours that can be built up gradually and would like any children in the home to be 14+ who are sensible around large dogs but must be walked by adults as he is strong on lead and can react towards other dogs.

Could you be Buddy's perfect match?

Your new best bud is ready to move in! Meet Buddy our majestic 7-year-old German Shepherd who is looking for a calm, quiet home to relax in. Buddy loves the simple things in life and can often be found heading out on a walk with his favourite handlers, playing fetch with a ball and having all the attention from his handlers. Buddy would thrive in a home with a love for the breed and would love a home who can continue his ongoing training and socialisation.

German Shepherd Puppy Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a German Shepherd.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the German Shepherd Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
