About This Dog

Apollo's ideal home

Apollo is a ten-month-old German Shepherd cross Corso looking for a fun, active, and loving home. He is looking to be the only dog in the home and would benefit from doggy pals to socialise with when out and about. He will need a home without cats or small furries and has no history around livestock. Apollo could share his home with teenage children. He is not used to being left alone in the home and will therefore need this time to be built up gradually and positively. He adores human company and would love to find adopters who are at home most of the time. He is housetrained. He is happy to travel in the car. He is worried by traffic and will need access to walks away from busy roads. Apollo is looking for adopters who love long walks and con provide physical exercise as well as mental stimulation. Experience with strong, high-energy breeds would be beneficial.

Could you be Apollo's perfect match?

Apollo is a young dog who is full of life. He has lots of energy and he enjoys putting that energy into toy play like a game of fetch or tug. He likes soft toys, squeaky balls and puzzle toys like a Kong. Mental stimulation is a must. Apollo is motivated by food which is ideal for positive reward training, and scent games. He already knows a sit, down, paw, and wait – if the motivation is right – the treat is tasty enough - he may show off his tricks. How about getting into fun agility? He loves long walks in the countryside with lots of variety and plenty of options to sniff. He will need to continue to practice his loose lead walking and his recall. He is strong on his lead so please consider this when applying to adopt. He can be nervous around some dogs, he prefers bigger dogs of similar size to him, and he is happy to either meet and greet or walk on past. Apollo is instantly friendly and excited with new people. He is affectionate and enjoys a fuss and snuggles.
