About This Dog for Adoption

Ayka's ideal home

Ayka can live with high school aged children but needs to be the only pet at home as she is very under socialised with other dogs. We have no background information for her and she will need all of her basic training.

Could you be Ayka's perfect match?

Poor Ayka was picked up as a stray so we know nothing about her background. She is very friendly and well mannered with everyone she has met and always happy to see her handlers. She stands ever so still when having her harness put on but as soon as he sees her lead she gets very excited and giddy! Ayka is very calm when she sees other dogs out and about but when they get close to her she is unsure of their intentions and will start to bark. We don't think she has had much contact with other dogs in her previous life, so we're working on lots of positive interactions with her as she is very responsive to them when she is calm. We don't believe she is ready to live with another dog, she has a little way to go yet but she should certainly be kept socialised with appropriate dogs and in an appropriate way. Ayka isn't the most foody dog, she can take or leave treats and sometimes she even spits the good stuff back out! She does like to chase after balls though, and will drop them at your feet for you to throw again. She's a smart dog who should thrive with a family who are happy to put in a little training with her.
