About This Dog for Adoption

Sparky's ideal home

Say hello to Sparky, our handsome 3 year old German Shepherd X! Sparky is a loveable goofball who likes meeting new people and making new friends. This sweet boy can live with another dog, but can be quite boisterous with his play, so would need a more confident dog who can calmly correct him if he gets over aroused. Sparky is curious and friendly but doesn't always know his own strength on the lead, so would need confident owners who are willing to work on his loose lead skills with him. For this reason, all children in the home should be 11+ and confident with bigger dogs. Sparky is very clean in his kennel and is used to being left alone in the house for 4-6 hours with a break, but this would need to be built up slowly after his initial settling in period.

Could you be Sparky's perfect match?

Sparky is looking for a reasonably busy home with a family who can offer him a higher level of exercise and enrichment to keep his brain active! Sparky is excellent with all forms of handling, such as getting kitted up for a walk and is a perfect angel in the vets. He's not a huge fan of being over fussed but loves a good butt scratch! Sparky likes to say hello to other dogs but can sometimes be a bit intense, so his new family would need to be able to manage his interactions in a more structured environment. This sweet boy is very playful, enjoying a nice game of tug or fetch and a good chew on a squeaky toy! He could definitely have fun with the right dog who could calmly correct him if he gets over aroused.
