About This Dog for Adoption

Ragnor's ideal home

If you're looking for a super fun, smart and snuggly Shepherd, you're going to LOVE Ragnor! He's 4yrs old, full of life and full of potential. He is very friendly with people and the more he gets to know you the more affectionate he gets! Before you know it he'll be snuggling up to you! He's also a very playful boy and especially enjoys fetching balls. He's a big lad and quite strong so won't suit young children, but confident older teens should be fine. He's learning how to socialise with other dogs and has made good progress. He even happily wears his muzzle out and about. He'll need his adopters to keep working slowly on his dog socialisation once settled and he'll of course need to be the only pet in his home.

Could you be Ragnor's perfect match?

Ragnor has come a long way with us and has made lots of friends at the centre. In an active home with adults who are into outdoors adventures and plenty of fun training he will really thrive. He'll need to be walked in quieter areas where he won't see too many dogs initially, but he travels well so won't mind being driven to such places. He's already house trained but a secure garden will be useful so he has somewhere of his own to play off-lead. He is taking medication for mild hip dysplasia but please don't let this put you off. Our Vet will discuss in more detail with potential adopters. So if you love big, snuggly Shepherds and are prepared to put in a bit of work initially, you might be a great match for Ragnor. Add him to your favourites NOW!

German Shepherd Puppy Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a German Shepherd.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the German Shepherd Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
