About This Dog

Shadow's ideal home

Gentle and laid back fluffball Shadow is an almost 8 year old German Shepherd who likes to do things at her pace, especially when exploring all the lovely sniffs on her walks. She is a playful girl who loves her toys, games of tuggy with her raggy toy are her favourite, when she wins she will give it back to you for round two. She takes a little time to warm to you, but once she does she likes a fuss, enjoying a good ear scratch, she will lean in and nudge your hand for more. This gorgeous girl is looking for her new family, could it be you?

Could you be Shadow's perfect match?

Shadow is looking for a home with loving and active adopters who can take her on sniffy adventures, who will take the time to help her settle in and give her all the love and attention she deserves. She is a friendly bean who can live with older primary school children who are confident around a larger dog, who can play with her nicely and will give her space to rest when needed. Shadow could live with another dog who will happily co-exist and engage in occasional play, this will be pending successful meetings at the centre, living with another dog is not a necessity, she would love to have fun and friendly walking buddies. Shadow is a clever girl and already has a little training under her belt, she knows her name and does a lovely “sit” and “down”, she is eager to engage in training in short sweet sessions if a tasty treat is on offer. She would like a home with a private, secure garden for her to potter about in at her leisure, but this is not a necessity as long as her family are happy to take her out for regular walks. Shadow can settle in the home, she could be left for up to 2-4 hours with the help of some enrichment and toys to keep her busy, any leaving time would need to be built up slowly once she has had time to settle into her new home. Shadow will need to meet her adopters a few times prior to going home. Please note that should you be shortlisted, our rehoming process usually takes up to 7 days, and potential adopters would be required to come up to the centre to meet her within 48hrs of being shortlisted.
