Tabitha's ideal home

Tabitha is looking for a home where she can enjoy the life of a loved family pet. She would ideally like to live in a more rural, peaceful setting so that she can feel relaxed in her new environment. Tabitha will need owners who have the time to help settle her in and patience as she learns the ropes of living in a home environment and gains confidence. She will benefit from adopters who are at home for the majority of the time and who are invested in doing lots of fun, positive training with her and who can dedicate lots of time to her when she first comes home. Her leaving hours could be built up gradually in a positive way once she has settled in. Tabitha will need access to her own, private and secure garden and she would like to be the only dog in her home. She can live with children over 16 years old who are calm and confident with big bouncy breeds. Tabitha will require all of her basic training in her new home, including housetraining. Tabitha will need to build a strong bond with her new owners prior to her adoption, so please bear in mind that she will need multiple meetings prior to taking her home. Once she is rehomed, Tabitha may require home visits from our Training and Behaviour team, so her new home needs to be within a 45 minute drive from the Canterbury rehoming centre.

Tabitha is a gorgeous, energetic 2 year old Husky cross who hasn’t had the best start in life and needs time and patience to help her build confidence in certain situations. She enjoys exploring new areas and loves going for nice walks. Tabitha is a big fan of food and treats and is such a keen girl when doing training so has lots of potential to learn! Tabitha is not very keen on spending time with other dogs and can be hesitant around new people but once she gets to know you she is such a cuddly girl and loves a fuss. She likes to take her time in new situations. Once she is comfortable and settled, Tabitha will make a loving and loyal addition to your home.
