About This Dog for Adoption
Elsa's ideal home
Elsa can live with children over the age of 16 and will need to be the only pet at home due to her lack of confidence and worried disposition.
Could you be Elsa's perfect match?
In just nine short weeks, Elsa went on quite the ride! She was spotted straying in Lancashire and had to be trapped as she wouldn't let anyone approach her, and within 24 hours she gave birth to a beautiful litter of seven healthy pups. During the first few weeks she was understandably very protective and wouldn't let us anywhere near her babies! Since then, she has made wonderful progress and shown herself to be a very loving girl who likes to be pampered and spoken to quietly. We have no idea of her background, but we know that where she was found is becoming a popular place for people to dump unwanted dogs, so it's probably fair to say she hadn't had the best start to life herself. Elsa is very gentle by nature, but she does lack confidence, and it may take a little while for her to settle into her new home, so we would ask her adopters to be patient. She bonded quickly with her main carers once she understood that we weren't there to cause any harm and even let us give her a bath and a glow up. Elsa is very foody, and this helps introduce her to people, but she does like to suss new folks out herself first. She's not that comfortable around other dogs just yet but her experiences with them may not have been great previously. There are a couple of dogs that we know won't bother her and she will walk nearby them with relatively comfort. She gets lots of praise and encouragement from her handler, but we don't push her beyond where she's comfortable. Elsa is a young dog and has the potential to blossom with the right family behind her. Patience and kindness are all she needs.
