About This Dog

Akira's ideal home

Akira would be best suited to a home with children of secondary school age and above. She is looking to be the only dog in the home, although she would benefit from continuing her socialisation with other dogs out on walks. She cannot live with cats, but she could potentially live with small furries if they are kept separate. A home with breed knowledge, or one that has done thorough research, would be preferred to help meet her needs. Akira will also require a home that can build up her leaving hours gradually, with minimal time left alone initially. Due to being under-socialised we would advise that she is kept on lead out on walks.

Could you be Akira's perfect match?

Akira is a sweet and affectionate 7 year old German Shepherd who is looking for a calm, patient home where she can continue to build her confidence. She settles well once comfortable and is a joy to work with, loving both food and toys, particularly a game of fetch. Her strong focus and food motivation mean that she is very responsive to training. She can be strong on the lead, so would suit an owner comfortable with her strength. She has no issue passing strangers or traffic but can become frustrated around other dogs, so will benefit from , ongoing socialisation. Akira may need a little time to fully relax in the home, but with the right support she will make a fantastic companion. She is happy to jump into the car and loves to head out for offsite walks.
