About This Dog for Adoption

Bear's ideal home

Bear is a very friendly and handsome three-year-old German Shepherd x St Bernard. Bear loves people so much that he sometimes forgets his size and will jump up to say hello, so any children in the home should be teens who won't be overwhelmed by his excitable, loving nature. Bear needs to be only pet in the home due to being underconfident and sometimes vocal around other dogs. Bear used to live with another dog so would benefit from gentle introductions to a few regular dog friends. Bear is very strong on lead so adopters should consider if they can hold a dog of his size and strength. Bear is fine being left for a few hours but he also LOVES trips out in the car. He needs his own private garden to enjoy so he can really stretch his legs and enjoy play time with his family. Bear recently had surgery to fix a heart defect which was successful, this will be discussed in full with potential adopters.

Could you be Bear's perfect match?

Bear is such a loveable boy who came into our care by no fault of his own. He is housetrained, absolutely loves going on walks and is a big foodie for tasty snacks! He knows “sit”, “lie down”, “paw” and "wait" and is always willing to learn more tricks. Bear is also always up for a play, whether that's chasing balls or having a game of tug. When Bear was in foster, he was the perfect house guest - would settle brilliantly throughout the day and night, but always ready and excited for an adventure. Bear is an absolute favourite amongst everyone who meets him, so if you're searching for a big dog with an equally big heart, Bear could be the one for you.
