About This Dog for Adoption

Gizmo's ideal home

3 year old German Shepherd / Labrador cross Gizmo has come to us through no fault of his own. He is ready to find his forever family that can include him in family life and give him lots of fuss and attention. Gizmo is a friendly boy and can live with older children 14+ that are comfortable around large bouncy dogs. He would prefer to be the only dog in the home but will benefit from ongoing socialisation around other dogs due to the fact he gets very excited and pushy when he greets a four legged friend. Gizmo came to us housetrained (odd accident to be expected when he first goes home) and once settled he can be left up to 4 hours. He will need use of a secure outdoor space to mooch around in.

Could you be Gizmo's perfect match?

Gorgeous Gizmo loves to be out and about exploring using his nose to sniff about, he will really suit an active family that enjoy daily walks and fun adventures where he can get exercise and mental stimulation. He is strong on the lead and would benefit from ongoing basic training in this area, his enthusiasm to get outdoors does result in him pulling on the lead. At the end of the day Gizmo loves to cuddle up to his humans getting lots of fuss and love whilst he snoozes and dreams of his next fun day out. Apply today and add Gizmo to your favourites to see if you are a match.

German Shepherd Puppy Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a German Shepherd.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the German Shepherd Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
