About This Dog for Adoption

Birch's ideal home

Beautiful Birch is on the search for and adult only forever home with adopters who can understand his worries and help him show off how wonderful he is. Ideally he is searching for a family with Shepherd experience. Birch is looking to be the only dog in the home- he can have walking friends when out and about to help continue his socialisation. He would benefit from a rural or countryside setting as he can be worried by busier areas and roads. Once settled into the home, Birch can be left for longer leaving hours. Birch needs a private and secure garden to enjoy with his family. Birch does have some medical considerations that will be discussed with our vet team upon a booking.

Could you be Birch's perfect match?

Birch is a wonderful boy who doesn’t always understand how to communicate his feelings. He loves spending quality time with his favourite people and particularly enjoys going on long adventurous walks. He enjoys using his brain and loves training sessions where he can show off how smart he is. Birch enjoys a tasty treat and likes to engage in ‘find it’ sessions. Although he doesn’t always show interest, Birch does like some toys and will play both independently and with a handler. He is a wonderful boy who needs a family to have the patience to show off how wonderful he is.

German Shepherd Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a German Shepherd.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the German Shepherd Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
