About This Dog

Ariya's ideal home

Ariya is a beautiful 3-year-old German Shepherd with a fun-loving personality and plenty of energy to share. This lovely lady is looking for an active home where she can enjoy adventures, continue learning, and, most importantly, be a cherished member of the family. Ariya would be happiest in a home with children of lower secondary school age or older who can understand and respect her space. She would also prefer to be the only dog in the home. While she's friendly with other dogs and enjoys socializing on walks, she has never shared her indoor space with another dog and would much rather have all of her family's love and attention to herself. When meeting new people or experiencing unfamiliar situations, Ariya can initially be a little defensive. However, she settles quickly once she realizes there's nothing to worry about, and her affectionate nature soon shines through. Ariya is housetrained and has previously been happy being left for a few hours, although this routine may need a little rebuilding as she settles into her new home.

As a typical German Shepherd, Ariya is incredibly intelligent and thrives when given both physical exercise and mental stimulation. She would love an owner who enjoys positive reinforcement training and is keen to continue building her skills. Whether it's learning new tricks, exploring exciting walks, or even having a go at dog sports, Ariya is ready to embrace an active lifestyle with someone who shares her enthusiasm. If you're looking for a loyal, clever companion who will reward your time and dedication with unwavering companionship, Ariya could be the perfect match.

Could you be Ariya's perfect match?

Ariya is currently being rehomed under our Homestay scheme. Under this scheme, the dog stays with their current owner until the point of adoption, when ownership transfers briefly to Dogs Trust and then to the new adopters. The benefits of Homestay for a dog are that it minimises disruption and prevents the dog having to come into kennels, however there is the potential the owner may pull out of the scheme prior to adoption. We understand the upset this may cause to potential adopters, and we work closely with owners to minimise the likelihood of this. However, it remains a possibility, and should this occur, Dogs Trust will prioritise finding adopters an alternative suitable dog.
