About This Dog for Adoption

Ria's ideal home

Ria is a bright and energetic 5-month-old German Shepherd x Husky with a big personality and an even bigger heart. She’s a social, affectionate young dog who loves being around people and getting involved in whatever is going on. She has grown in confidence quickly in foster and is showing herself to be playful, friendly and eager to engage. She also has a cheeky side and likes to keep her foster carer on their toes, always ready to turn everyday moments into a game. She enjoys fuss, play and training games, and is very motivated by toys and food enrichment. Ria loves interactive play like tug and chase, settles nicely with something to work on, and is already picking up early cues. She is highly social with people and dogs, greeting with enthusiasm and curiosity, and recovers quickly if something startles her. Ria enjoys her walks and exploring the world around her. She is active and outdoorsy and would suit a home that enjoys training, enrichment and regular exercise. She travels well, handles well for her age, and is comfortable with grooming and general handling. Because she is a clever working-type cross, Ria will thrive with structure, routine and continued positive training. She would be best suited to a home with older children, no other pets, and a secure garden where she can burn off energy and keep learning. In the right home, she will develop into a loyal, fun and deeply rewarding companion, as she is already showing all of these signs in her foster home. AWE licence number 13090 by West Lothian Council.
