About This Dog for Adoption

Sarge's ideal home

Meet our big and beautiful Sarge, a 6 year old German Shepherd cross ready to find his paw-fect forever home. Sarge is an amazing boy who loves nothing more than sniffing around exploring, having a pamper grooming session and of course, getting some tasty treats from his carers. Sarge has arrived into our care with little previous history so is hoping to find adopters who can help him learn all he needs to know about home life. This will include things such as housetraining and learning how to settle home alone. Despite his size, Sarge is a real gentle giant and can walk beautifully on the lead. We think he could live with any age children following a meeting here at the centre and he would love nothing more that his own garden to play and zoom around in. We’re currently still assessing Sarge’s interactions with other dogs, so he will need to be the only pet for now however this may change in the future.

Could you be Sarge's perfect match?

If you have a big Sarge shaped hole in your life and a big gap on your sofa then Sarge could be the guy for you. He's full of fun and loves to throw his favourite rope toys around the runs here before snuggling up for some fuss and attention from his carers.

German Shepherd Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a German Shepherd.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the German Shepherd Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
