Barry

6 weeks

Barry's ideal home

Barry is a handsome, big boy looking for a fresh start. We all love Barry here and he thinks he is a little lap dog! However, Barry is currently very over weight and is now on a strict weight management plan and doing well. He needs little and often walks until he gets his fitness up and looses a few KG! Barry is a big dopey boy, very placid and loving. He would like a home where his owners are home a lot of the time as he really does struggle being home alone. He has spent all his life being with his humans, including sleeping on their bed- so this will be a difficult habit to break for Barry as that does stress him out so preferably, a home where he can have all the home comforts that he is used to would be better. He will make sure to make it worth your while but smothering you in love and being your bestest friend!

Could you be Barry's perfect match?

Barry has previously lived with dogs and mixes with dogs lovely here, he occasionally has an excitable bark when he sees other dogs but is more than happy to be around them and chill out. Barry would need to continue his diet in his new home, he travels well in the car and really is the most cuddliest boy.

German Shepherd Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a German Shepherd.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the German Shepherd Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
