About This Dog for Adoption

Cormac's ideal home

Cormac is a gorgeous boy who is still just a baby at 1 year old. He's looking for a fun and active home who can keep up with his boundless energy. He's arrived with us with very little history and will need some guidance as he learns all about the world. He doesn't really have many skills at the moment and although friendly can often get too excited and jump up at people. For this reason we think he would be best suited to children 12+ who are confident around bouncy and boisterous dogs. Cormac will need some help with things such as housetraining and we recommend any time being left is gradually built up leaving him with things to keep him busy. Cormac has been friendly with other dogs, although he can be a little over the top and excitable in his playstyle, so if living with another dog they will need to be confident and tolerant of him. It's recommended that his new family do their breed research as Cormac is super clever and will certainly keep you on your toes!

Could you be Cormac's perfect match?

Cormac's new family will need to be willing to get involved with some of his training here at the centre, at moment he can be come frustrated on his walks causing him to grab at the lead. He's learning to carry his favourite toys on his walks instead and is starting to interact and follow his handlers more.

German Shepherd Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a German Shepherd.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the German Shepherd Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
