About This Dog for Adoption

I am writing this reference to describe the temperament and behavior of Sheera, a large, white female German Shepherd.

Sheera is a highly intelligent, energetic, and active dog. She is very playful and thrives with regular exercise, structure, and mental stimulation. Inside the home, Sheera is well behaved, calm, and obedient, and she responds reliably to verbal commands. She understands boundaries well and listens attentively to direction from her handler.

Sheera is not food aggressive and not toy aggressive, and she does not display resource-guarding behavior. She eats calmly and engages with toys without possessiveness.

Sheera currently lives in a household with cats. While she coexists with them, she does have a strong prey drive and will chase them, so interactions are supervised and managed appropriately.

When outdoors, Sheera is strong and energetic and requires an experienced and physically capable handler. She must always be walked on a leash and cannot be let off-lead unless in a secure, enclosed area, as she does not get along with other dogs and may react if approached unexpectedly.

Sheera is generally comfortable with adults passing by during walks; however, she may occasionally bark at people without an obvious trigger. She does not do well with children or other dogs, and for this reason she is best suited to a calm, adult-only environment where interactions can be carefully controlled.

Overall, Sheera is a loyal, intelligent, and well-trained companion in the right setting. With a confident, experienced owner who understands her needs and provides proper management, she is a stable and rewarding dog to care for.

German Shepherd Puppy Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a German Shepherd.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the German Shepherd Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
