Gem's ideal home
Gem is looking for a home that has time dedicated to her as she has limited training and would benefit from more including house training. She would like an active family who will take her out on rural, quieter walking areas as she can get anxious in busy areas, but she is very inquisitive and loves to explore.
Gem enjoys meeting other dogs at her own pace and will benefit from positive, gentle introductions to friendly dogs with nice walks and play dates to keep up her doggy social skills. Although not essential, Gem can live with a very calm dog that would be happy to just co-exist with her. She cannot live with cats or small furries.
Due to her nervous nature, a home with older children aged 14 years and over who understand that she may need space at times would be ideal for her and she would need minimal visitors when she first goes home with gradual introductions to new people at a pace she is comfortable with. Gem does not mind being left for a short period of time, once she is settled into her new home this can be built up gradually once she is familiar with her new home and routine. Gem will need to meet her adopters multiple times to build a strong bond prior to going home so please bear this in mind when applying. If you rent your property, please have written permission from your landlord ready once you have submitted your application to avoid delays, as it will be required early on in the rehoming process if you are shortlisted.
Could you be Gem's perfect match?
Gem is a small wiggly, waggy 3 year old German Shepherd Husky Cross, she has a silly side and loves to play and chase. She loves a tasty treat and has the potential to learn so much and be a real clever clogs with lots of positive, reward based training to build her confidence. She needs a little time to get to know new people as she is a little bit worried at first, but with a calm environment, time to sniff and with gentle encouragement she soon comes around and once she does she is sweet and affectionate. She loves playing with and chasing toys, bouncing around them like a puppy and bopping them. With time, patience and understanding, she will make such a lovely companion to a very lucky home.
