About This Dog for Adoption

Suki's ideal home

Sweet Suki is seeking an adult only home, as she can be worried by strangers. Although she is more anxious around men, with a patient adopter, she will be able to share her home with one. Suki will need to be walked with a muzzle and on lead at all times in public places. She can be reactive towards dogs when out, but has been working hard with her handlers to improve this behaviour.
Suki loves to run around, with the occassional zoomie, so would benefit from a secure private garden. However, this is not essential within her new home. Suki will require multiple meets at the centre, to build a bond before she can go home.

Could you be Suki's perfect match?

6-year-old Suki is a German Shepherd Cross who is a real sweetie once she gets to know you. Suki really enjoys being out and about, walks lovely on the lead and enjoys hydrotherapy here at our Centre. She is a real water-baby and really enjoys splashing in a paddling pool. Suki has displayed some separation anxiety so initially would not be able to be left. This could potentially be increased once she feels settled in her new home. Less is more when it comes to Suki, but it doesn’t take her long to build relationships. With lots of love and patience and the right home, Suki will make the best companion and is an amazing dog to work with.

German Shepherd Puppy Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a German Shepherd.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the German Shepherd Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
