About the White Swiss Shepherd Breed
The White Swiss Shepherd shares the same DNA and origins as the German Shepherd Dog. Originally, white-coated puppies appeared naturally within German Shepherd litters. However, the white colour was later excluded from the German Shepherd breed standard, despite having no link to health or temperament issues.
As a result, the white-coated dogs were developed and recognised separately, leading to the formation of the White Swiss Shepherd as its own breed. They retain the intelligence, loyalty, trainability, and working ability of the German Shepherd, while often being known for their slightly softer, calmer, and more family-focused temperament.
